Fortaleza Anejo Tequila
Tequila Fortaleza was the first distillery to export their tequila to the United States and also had a major role in establishing the Denomination of Origin for Tequila.
While the Fortaleza brand only launched in 2005, the family has 140 years of experience in the industry. This old-world tequila uses blue weber agave that is then Horno cooked and Tahona crushed, keeping the traditional style alive. The agaves are 100% estate-grown for 7-8 years and then aged in wood oak barrels for 2-3 years.
This tequila has a floral, spicy, and funky nose and an initial mouth-coating richness. Butterscotch, caramel, citrus, and hazelnuts dominate the palate, with the finish showing slight heat, as the bold and complex flavors end gently.
Cheers, and enjoy this Tequila!
